was driving in the car for about 5 mins and the water started coming out the overfil pipe next to the water filler cap, does anyone know why this might be as i cant work out why, unless its the thermostat?????

Well I guess you've got to find out why its got an airlock, often heater matrix can cause it over a period of time. Things i'd do: 1. Have all the plugs out and look at them. Do they all look the same? 2. Compression Test - see if the HG has gone. 3. Fill it back up with coolant and properly bleed out the system. 4. Run it and get it up to temperature. Make sure the fans kick in, the rad/hoses are getting hot. Also see if you've got any white residue by hoses that could mean a leak. Don't open the cap if it is warm. Don't put cold water into a hot engine. Good luck ________________________________________ Nothing to see here |

hey all again, i been out and checked the car earlier and it is air in the system so i have flushed out the engine and the rad, the bleed screw for the matrix has nothing coming out is this bec there is an air lock there or is the pipe full of crap?? also when i went to bleed the system i noticed the level of coolant and water was rising then goin back down, why is this?? what am i doin wrong?/? cheers |

Bleed points on the rad, thermostat and the one for the matrix near the bulk head. Bleed the system in that order when up to temp. Should get the air out! ________________________________________ Still watching you... |

ok mate thanks vary much, i did try that though but i still seemed to get en excessive amount come back out the filer cap once warm, the matrix bleed point didnt bleed so i am assuming this is why?also i read about another bleed poin behind the head but thats its not nessicary?? :/ sorry to sound stupid but its the first time i have tried this so dont wanna mess up mu car |
