Heya there.

Had a 306, which got stolen Sad
I bought a 306 gti to cheer myself up Shock)
It was a lemon with a few problems Sad
Having been made redundant I took it to Newgale in Wales for a camping trip where the head gasket blew.... or so i thought!

It now turns out that it's most likely fine. My garage had lied about fixing my radiator fans and now i have new fans it seems ok...but I've had the car off the road for a year having not been able to afford to fix it.

My new garage (friend of a friend situation) has explained what's really wrong and was about to go start sorting it out.

however, the other day they turned the key in the ignition and ... nothing.

It turns over and but there's no spark to start her up. seems like there is a signal but it's getting lost in the ECU.

Does anybody know what to do to fix this?
Reset ecu? get a keycode from peugeot?

I've heard romours about being able to disconnect a grey wire somewhere near the driver seat/driverside passanger seat?

Can anyone offer assistance, or do i have to fork out £150 for a ECU reset with an electrician; when im not even sure this will 100% fix the problem...

Anyone had an experience like this, know where to start or what to do?

Really hope to get this sorted so i can have a car for some of the summer, having had it off the road for no reason because my old garage did me over :*(

feel such a plum, that I'd be eternally grateful for help.

Pete.

Roland - if you read this, you offered to help before, and even take it away if i was gonna scrap it. seems that my last thread (last may) was a cock and bull story!

ah well, heres to hoping...
