Well I have bought my 4th GTi6 so here we have a problem I have never had yet Wink

The wipers on inter just run constant and when on main run as normal, again constant. When you push the stalk down for a single wipe it doesnt only wipes as long as the stalk is held down...

Any ideas on whether it could be stalk, relay, sensor or motor???

Thanks to all that may be able to help

From what i remember its because of the contacts inside the motor. People have managed to rectify the problem by taking motor apart and re-greasing i think

i hand a similar problem with the auto wipers on my old hdi stopping mid way and generaly acting wired, and that turned out to be the motors, discoverd this after id changed all the above parts lol allways the last thing you try. but if it was me id go for the wiper motors first. u should be able to pick up some spares from a local breakers yard, lots of 306s have the same system.

Thanks will look out for a motor. Always worth asking. Just seemed strange how the rain sensing had wipers on constant but no rain...

no worries, yea they do do weird things, i could hear the relay clicking on and off on my car when the wipers stopped mid screen, so i assumed it was the relay being crappy, but it wasnt it was the motors? not sure how that works but a fresh set sorted mine. hope it works
