On my gti 6 I have the standard wheels on it. They have 195/55/15 on them at the moment but i need to change my tyres very soon. so I was thinking of putting 195/50/15 on them. what do you lot think? would it look ok or should i just stick with the 55 profile?________________________________________ 1997 Black Phase 1 306 GTI 6 |

After going from 55 to 50 profiles there is a noticable difference. The cornering will be more sharper. Plus 50s are cheaper as aaron said________________________________________ Ph2 Black GTI6Ph3 China GTI6 206 xsi manstone daily runner (GAY) Ph1 Cherry Red GTI6 307 HDi 110 |

55 profile is the factory size. 50 profile might be cheaper but they will look a bit small in the arches and the speedo will over-read. The car will also be slightly less economical but have slightly better acceleration. I would definitely stick with the 55 profile, as after all it is what the car was designed for. Your choice though. ________________________________________ Cherry Rallye SOLD |

Cool thanks for the info everyone. I may lower the car so if that's the case then I will get some 50 profiles.________________________________________ 1997 Black Phase 1 306 GTI 6 |

welshpug! wrote: because they don't fit 15" wheels.... Snigger. Incidentally 17's will also not fit. As mentioned, 55's are correct. The only people run 50's is because they're cheaper, and don't look too bad as long as the car's been lowered. If it's just a road car, go for 55's. If you're going to be caning tyres on track, the cheaper 50's will save you a fair bit of cash in the long run. ________________________________________ Membership expiring soon, get in contact on our new little forum project. |
