am i right in saying that if the suspension is standard the wheels should sit central in the arch(front to back)
as my rear wheels sit nearer the rear bumper almost as if it has been lowered

or is it possible that something is worn??

thanks in advance guys. couldnt find a similar question when i searched

Not necessarily, the only bit that stays constant is the rear beam location - as the trailing arms essentially swing off that the wheels will move backwards the lower the car.

This could be because it's lowered, got lots of stuff in the boot or just isn't on a flat surface.

Precisely that, the radius swept by the trailing arms will move the wheels further back in the arch when the suspension is loaded.
