Hey Guys,

I will try and give you as good explanation as possible here. I am going to take it too a garage to have a look but i was wondering if anyne can give me a rough idea first.

I first noticed that when i brake and turn in left corners that the tire rubs against my front mudflap all the time so i adjusted the mudflap (as it was loose) and thought this would fix the ansnwer but instead i think i have opend a can of worms.

Now i measured the wheel distance from the flap too the wheel and it differs from the driver side but about an inch. The rubbing still happens BUT ONLY when i brake and turn into it when going slow speeds. It doesnt happen when driving at speed.

I have also noticed a 'clunk' noise on the left wheel when doing tight small turns (at low speed and require full lock)every time!

When driving however at say 50/60 mph on the road when i turn my wheel to the right to steer into corners the left wheel feels like it steers into it and then suddenly jolts into the corner everytime. It feels likes somethings loose but i dont know what. I always am very careful when steering right now for this reason

I havent had the car very long and dont know if its been in an accident etc.

Just wondering if anyone else has had this happen to them and or possiple ideas of what it could be?

Many Thanks

Ball joint in the wishbone under the hub. Yes Mine behaved exactly the same, clunks at low speed turns, sudden sensation of self-tightening into bends etc.

Edit: if one wheel is further back than the other by an inch, i'd have a look and see if the wishbone properly done up or even bent, and if the p bush at the back had grenaded. Small differences are acceptable.

yea as said balljoint, mine does it atm, also another one to check is the hub, the hole where the balljoint goes in might have ovaled and cause the same symptoms Smile
