Do the fans come on when you unplug the brown sensor on the thermostat housing?________________________________________ Ex SC-6Now in a Megane R26 |

I had this problem but it never went into the red.Make sure when you are sat in traffic to put the blowers on hot and on max speed and to the top setting (front demister) and this will take some of the heat away from the engine. My problem was lazy fan motors. They are both supposed to cut in at 97 degrees on slow speed and then switch off again at 90. You need to run a little test and see if they kick in when they are supposed to. Once it gets to just above 97 degrees and if they havent kicked in give them a little tap with your finger to see if they then start rotating. If they only come on with you physically tapping them then it sounds like lazy fan motors and you will need new fans. It its not that then it could be a host of other things. ________________________________________ ''Oh, it does handle like a golf!'' Why drive a Golf....when you can drive a GTi-6? |

It it only happens sometimes then it could be the fan motors on the way out as sometimes they will work and others not. Just start her up 2mora and let her idle to 97 deg water temp. Then repeat test over and over and see what happens.... ________________________________________ ''Oh, it does handle like a golf!'' Why drive a Golf....when you can drive a GTi-6? |

What do you mean? At 97 they should both come on at LOW speed then go off again at 90.Its only when the water temp reaches 107 that both fans should come on at HIGH speed iirc. ________________________________________ ''Oh, it does handle like a golf!'' Sounds like it could be your relays. Take the grill off and open up the triangular shaped box which has 3 relays in it. (just above the fans themselves) Check relays for corrosion and clean them up ________________________________________ ''Oh, it does handle like a golf!''
