where in the north east are you mate? yellow water doesnt mean your head gasket has gone. check under you rad cap or oil cap to see if there is any white think mayo type stuff under there then you will no if your head gasket has gone

Im from south shields eddy. But living in scotland at the minute.

Heading down to shields on friday for a week though.

Ill pop back outside with a torch in a sec and give it a better inspection. Guess it looked frothy and rusty lol Smile

It was the front cooling cap I took off. It just looked a bit horrible inside.

Can this be flushed out / renewed easily.

Im a total "newb" and this car is a bit ropey, even though I love it

Also the Heaters dont seem to blow very hot. Just warm or cold. Not really any difference between low red and high settings.

I've got yellow water, but thats because I used yellow coolant... but it's all clear.
Enquire at your garage what what colour coolant they use Razz (or the previous owner)

I'm taking blue/green next time though, the yellow stuff freaked me out the first time too Wink

Just flush it through with a hose pipe, take off your top rad pipe and wait for all the yellow water to come out then put the pipe back on, fill the system back up with water and anti freeze Big grin

That would be great eddy. Ill be a bit scared to find out anything bad about it Sad

Id appreciate the input actually because theres a few things id like to fix on it like...

- the green thing inside the drivers window snapped and my window dropped. So its now wedged closed.

- the little plastic trims under the headlights are snapped and spring outover.

- drivers side door was keyed/gouged before I got it and previous owner used a fix pen over it. and it looks CRAP! Sad

- all black areas are faded to hell.

If you can point me in the direction of what and where to buy items to spruce my baby up id be very grateful!.

I may be in touch next week eddy! thanks

Ill take a picture of her tomorrow Smile

Its a Diablo red Phase 3.

I bought her off a friend as an impulse buy over a year ago and since put about 11k on it. Love driving it but its far from mint condition Sad

Its developed a bit of a nasty knock in the last few weeks too when I go over bumps. It doesnt knock when going up a bump.. it knocks when coming down off one, if you get what I mean lol.

Doesnt knock when turning or anything. Ive heard of a droplink, maybe its that?

Its also got terrible stone chips on the bonnet , the clearcoat is peeling allover the bloody place Sad
