hi i have just been robbed of £40 by peugeot to find out what was wrong with my GTI-6 and have now been told it was the stepper motor / icv
having asked them how much they want to have it done they now want to rob me of another £212 fitted

my question to those in the know is is it worth spending the extra cash on a genuine pug part or would it be ok to put a non-gen part as there is nearly £100 difference if i buy from my local motor factor for a non-gen

only reason for asking is i have been told that the non-gen usually only last a few months

cheers guys and girls

Ive recently bought an ICV off http://www.onlineautomotive.co.uk/ for £30 odd quid and its done me well for the last month (touch wood!)

A genuine item costs £140ish IIRC and isnt very hard to fit, maybe a little bit fiddly.

I'd also suggest checking the resistance on your current ICV. Have a look here:
