Hi chaps,

I just bought this -

Now it came with an OMP steering wheel of the suede variety, as with most of these wheels, the suede was matted and smooth from years of sweat and oils from the skin of drivers hands. I always thought that once this happened it was irreversible, but with the state it was in, it woulc not hurt to give it a damn good clean, anything would be better than it's current state.

So this is where I started -

Kind of hard to see, easier in the pic below -

I just got some generic halfords foaming interior cleaner, and a stiff bristled brush (in this case a nail brush), and went to town! Scrubbing really hard to pull up the grain of the suede, it took about 20mins to do the whole thing.

Once this was done, and don't shoot me, but I rinsed the whole thing under the tap! Washed out a lot of rubbish and came up really good.
I missed the pics from the next step, but I used a soft brass bristled brush, to once again bring up the grain of the suede, try to not grip it too hard while it is damp as this will flatten the surface while it dries and waste all that hard work!

And this is the result -

Easy to see the difference between the two!
