Hi, I have a 98 306 GTi, Just before Christmas I replaced my rear brake pads and discs as the pads had worn down to the discs! But now the rear passangers side has worn the pads right down again! Nothing left! I made sure the piston was wound right back in when i replaced the pads? Cant work out why my pads have worn so quickly, just on one side? Help please!

Mayby need to look at the caliper to see if the sliders are goosed.

If the sliders are jammed then this would hold the pad against the disc causing the wear you describe.

i am no expert though.

Could it be a sticking rear brake bias valve. Dunno

not really, that would affect both brakes, and tends to give lower rear braking pressure meaning the discs go rusty and the front brakes work harder.

Was it both pads on one side or just the outer?

Sticky piston. I had this and it killed a set of pads in 3 days once. heh.

Red rubber grease FTW. Thumbs up
