I no this topic has been OVER DONE

I have a S-reg phase 2, 5 door, 306 LXDT and the door locks unlock when i try to lock them.

I have been through almost all the threads on this forum about central locking, and non of them are any help.

1.
I have looked for my central locking control unit and it is not under the rear passenger seat, nor is it under the center console. can anyone help with this ?

2.
I have checked all the Door looms and plugs and all are fine. is there a way of testing to see which door is causing the problem

Thanks

Adam

Try using the key to lock the doors rather than the remote and try both doors (although I have to say I have no idea whether the passenger side door lock operates the central locking).

If that doesn't work, lock each door in turn from inside first and try again. If it works with one of the doors locked first then you've found your problem door.

Perhaps if you described the problem a bit more clearly - i.e. does it do this on the remote and the key? How have you checked the loom etc?

I have taken all four doors off and removed the rubber around the wires and checked for broken/worn wires. I have replaced all the electric locking units in the doors.

This problem happens if i press the key button or use the locks.

I have been looking for the contol box for the locking but have been unsucsessful. It is not under the driver rear passenger seat, either is it under/in the centre console.

If I could find the control box it would make testing alot easier

sorry about previous description

So even if you lock it with the key then does that lock stay down or pop up again?

My guess would be a changover switch on one of the front doors is not working. This would give rise to what you describe.

But if you want to try the control unit first. try looking under drivers seat.

I'd check your wiring loom in the drivers door - this is likely to be the cause of this problem.

Also you need to remember that this fix will mean that if the lock fails to operate, the control unit won't know and you may not realise that lock hasn't locked.
