Hi,
I think my crankshaft seal on the drivers side maybe leaking and have read its quite likely the seal might have perished.

Can anyone tell me what part it is from the exploded diagram below:

Am I right in thinking its label 20? Its definately on the drivers side too.
Cheers

Woody

The seal its self is relatively easy. If you have trouble getting it out then you can screw a couple of small self tapping screws into it and use them to pull it out.

Remember that the cambelt needs to come off to get to it though. If it's only a slight leak then I'd consider leaving it until the cambelt is next due.

Obviously if it's a big leak you'd want to tackle it without delay though.

Ahh that's not good. Cambelt was done ~7000miles ago and the only mechanic I trust is Carl LOL

How long do you reckon it will take? I'm guessing it's going to be £200 minimum?

It's an o'ring, held in place by the pulley once it's bolted on. Don't forget about it when you reassemble.

Oil will leak out from behind the belt drive pulley. This is probably the leak you are seeing if the o'ring wasn't installed, but you can get to it by removing the casting that the crankshaft oil seal sits in I think.
