Hi, I want to setup an oil temperature gauge for my pug as the stock one isn't that accurate. I heard that the sump plug is either 14 x 1.50 or 14 x 1.25. The website that I ordered the gauge from had some adapters but only in 14x 1.50 so thats the one that I ordered. I called up pug and they said it was 14 x 1.25 so where can I get that sized adapter from? Thanks.

been on there also, surely somone must make them?

at worst could buy the M14x1.50 and get a M14x1.25 dye to change the thread.

I wouldn't put it in the sump plug, just remove the stock sender.

IMO there's no need though, they are accurate enough to give an indication that something is awry, you never need to be that precise with temps.

ill be fitting one in the top sensor hole in thermostat housing for water temp and the front sump bung for the oil temp. mines on a 205 rallye so no temp gauges atall.

when i used one, i used a durite oil temp gauge which had a 1/8" nptf sender so needed a 14x1.25 adaptor from demon-tweeks, change 'sender thread' to 1/8 npt and 'male thread' to m14x1.25

I could have sworn they didn't do an adapter for itCrazy I've just put the details of my sensor and required adapter and its come up with oneBlink My sensor is an M10 thread so different from yours but they still have an adapter it seems. Going to order one now, thanks for the link. Edit; is there any particular reason to go for short or long?Dry

Don't bust your sump though.

Hi owain. Did you get the long one or the short one? And why was there a problem with getting it to go into the sump thread? It is 14 x 1.25, that is the right thread so it should fit in easily :s

No idea why it was tight but it was, and it leaks unless you get it all the way in.

I got This one, M14 and 1/8NPT.

I need the M10 one bud. The washer should stop any leaks you get, perhaps it was not seated correctly?

Is that the same length as the pug one?

Just found out the source of the confusion:

http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/Motorsport/Gauges_Instrumentation/Gauge_Pipes_Adaptors/LMA_Oil_Temperature_Sump_Plug_Adaptor/1773/1844

http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/Performance/Gauges_Dial_Kits/Fittings_Accessories/LMA_Gauge_Sender_Unit_Adaptors/812/1847

There two different sodding pages! No wonder I couldn't find the M14 x 1.25 sensor the first time round! Wonder what that is all about :S
