Hiya guys,

Having a go at my 1st engine removal, and just wondered why I need drain the engine oil if i'm throwing the old engine away? Unsure

Is it just being ecologically responsible?

Cheers Kev

Define "throwing it away"? Sooner or later it'll be taken apart, and someone's going to get a bucketload of oil all over them.

Why *not* drain it, if you can remove an engine I'm sure you can remove a drain plug...?

LOL You can't just 'throw' an engine away!

It has to be dismantled and treated as scrap metal, which is why the oil needs to be drained off and disposed of properly.

Crazy

Well that's yet to be seen, but I've got a proper draining receptacle, so I'll do it properly.

Cheers

Hiya Carl,

don't get too excited buddy, it's just my nephew's 1.1 saxo. It's got a blown engine and i just fancy at having a go at putting a replacement engine in. As you know, having been made redundant I've got a few hours on my hands !!!

I miss my supercharged 6, hope it went to a good home, I'll have another when things pick up.

Kev
