Right then, Im new here but been watching in the shadows for over a year now. I have a 1999 Citroen Xantia 2.0i 16v Exclusive. Had a few mods on it, got a quickshift that seems to be popular on here that costs little over £20 and with help from the FAQ, was easy to fit.

Anyway, Its got an " XU10J4R " engine in it. Ive been told that the manifolds/cams/ECU/head is different. Yeah the head is different cos you cant bolt on the metal covers and so are the manifolds and thats visually obvious. Ment to be 135BHP.

I want to uprate the lower engine mount. Its got "96 193 563" part number in the molding of the rubber and thats the same on the rubber as a HDi but i know for a fact the castings are different. Citroen part number is "1809.16" That is the same as an XU engined 306 so im asuming the rubber mounts are the same?

Whats best if it is then, Baker Bush GrpN or Powerflex? I dont want it shaken to pieces cos, afterall, its french but i want an improvement.

Next, ECU. Is the GTi6 ECU the same or different to the 1 on my xantia atm? Yeh, I have a suspension AND engine ECU just to make it more scarier! I dont think it is because my xantia only revs to 6500rpm and i believe the GTi6 is alot higher. Would the mapping be different if I fitted 1 to the car or would it be a no runner and waste of money?

Is there any tricks or easy way to get power from it?

Thanks for your help.

Ecu won't work.
Engine mount should be the same as any other xu 2L one.

Your best bet for a quick xantia would be sell that one and buy a turbo or v6 activa.

V6 Activa is French market or special UK order only. They pretty much dont exist. And the 2.0 Turbos, Mhmm. Ok. Cant say good or bad on that tbh. Dirt cheap to buy, often got the rams leaking and also for a turbo, not thaat lively. Its called a TCT in an XM, "Torque a consistant turbo" (well, in french but its made for torque not power). Electrical faults are quite common too. Aint worth it. Best 1 is the 16v.
