im planning on ralling a gti with and uprated ecu, which one i havnt decided on yet. im after some advice on what the safe limit to rev a standard bottom end, ive seen posts on the cams which say that running cams would mean a need to uprate the pistons too so im hoing to get some gains from a mappable ecu? would this work? and what kind of gains would this bring???? cheers

stock ecu is 7250 or 7450 roughly.

though there's not much point revving a standard engine quite that far as peak power is down at 6500.

unless you're chasing figures north of 200 I don't think you'll have issues with the standard top end, as the revs don't tend to need to go too high before then.
