Hi all, first of all I would just like to say what great website with the wealth of information supplied in your forums...Great work.
I've had my GTI 6 for 10 months now and enjoyed every minute of it untill I decided to tackle the on going fan problems and starter motor issues. Fitted the new starter motor today....perfect
started on the fans ...long story short

spliced new wiring

left fan came on when ignition on(before start up)

car runs on after ignition off

Now car wont start

No dash lights apart from Battery light

Check all fuses - all ok

Spent 3 hours reading through threads

Still none of the wiser

Any ideas please?
