Picked up my Rallye a few weeks back but today was the first day i took it for a good run.

After 2 hours of driving i pulled over, got some fuel & headed off.
It began to misfire at 3k each gear & began to lose power. I switched it off & started it again. The misfire had gone & hasnt returned???
I can see the previous owner queried this before with the mechanic & nothing was found.
Any suggestions?

Also the gear change is very notchy which doesnt make for smooth up and down shifts.

As this is my first Rallye im just wondering if these are common faults? Smile

I'm in no position to comment really, but just reading here, it seems like a lot of cars have worn gearboxes. First thing I did was change the gearbox fluid, my next step will be the cable and then the clutch and gearbox haha.

I blip my throttle on down shifts and this eradicates some of the notchy-ness.

Your power delivery problem almost sounds like you were running out of petrol!

Sounds simple enough, just check your plugs and the coils are in good nick.
