what way do you go about replacing the unit around the handbrake without marking the rubber surround on the handbrake.?
its a very tight fit so was just wondering is there some sort of way to do it.

yes. remove the handbrake cover! quite simply..

it's a pain to do it otherwise. bit of wd40 on the tip of the handbrake and stick something long and thin down the edge to slacken it, then work it loose before lifting the console off

I got it off without removing it LOL ..
But was very tight putting it back on.. got the rubber part removed Happy .. have it back on now..
