Well, I fixed my alternator and coilpack problems Thumbs up:

but in the process, manage to damage both breather pipes at the point where they connect into the rocker cover. Thumbs down:

its the two pipes on the right hand side, ( I've reused the picture from elsewere on the forum ).

Basically, the pipes were very cold and brittle, so when I pushed them on, they split, and some bits flew off...

So the lefthand/upper one is only connected with about 50% of the hose..

The lower one is 75% connected..

As a temporary measure, I've wrapped gaffa tape around the hoses, so they 'sort' of seal..

Is this ok as a temp measure, and can I run the car like this until I get some rpelacements ?

I'm guessing that as they are breather pipes, they arent under a great pressure unless they get blocked ?

Also, the lower pipe..

That seems to connect to something in the 'depths' of the engine... Is that on a T piece, so I just pull the old one off, or is it more complicated than that ?

Be ok for short term bodgeWink

The breather pipes are not cheap from Pug,IIRC the one I priced up that goes down to the bottom of block was circa £40Roll eyes

I bought silicone ones in the end from SpooxCool

Full set was £120Smile

Yeah, they'll be fine like that.

I've bought the little from Peugeot before. I think it was only around £3 but the other one is pricey as it comes complete with both lower pipes and the T piece as a complete unit. Get that one from someone who's breaking a car.
