As title really,
So thinking out loud on which route to take to get around the 200hp mark in the old 270k beast without looking to modified for my standard Road going class.
I want to beat the old Honda S2000 this year so I just need some more up hill power or another 10mph finish line speed.
I’ve got a few idea’s myself so just seeing if anyone else has any

PeterT stage 2 cam regrind and map. He can supply both cams at stage 2 for about £400 delivered from Oz, and the obligatory remap with Wayne for another £400 or so, would be looking at 190-200bhp with those. Polished tb to increase flow, PTFE gaskets, lightened flywheel and pulleys..?

All stuff that can be easily hidden, but depends what your regs are Smile

Some Blank Cam grinds on are the card's, Never like re-grinds.
Plus a OMEX ECU as £400.00 for mapping is plain silly in my books plus a couple of days out for me to get there.
Handy as I have one spare so it's just a new loom and wire up which I can do with my eyes shut.

if its hillclimbing your running in how about running a 1.6 205 box? as i'd think the be3/6 is abit long for short bursts.

lightened pulleys, flywheel, removed a/c, slightly fettled head and some mild cams would be my thoughts

or let the s2k's tyres down?Huh?

Either way for the cams, guess as long as you don't fiddle with max lift too much you won't have to worry about valve to piston clearance, so no spending on pistons.

Wot bowt a kandn?

Machined pistons, some cams and a mappable ecu, exhaust already sorted I guess, Manifold possibly? don't know whether getting a proper 4-2-1 would help.

LOL

already on a speed box with a diff too IIRC.

I'd be interested to hear how you get along and what parts you've used, I've got a mappable ecu on the way for mine (DTA S40), pistons already done, got a pair of Newman PH2's that I can use.

Removed A/C, wash your mouth out sir, it works fine and is great before you start in the summer as the car's nice and cool.

Forgot to say it has a modded 6 speed box now 5 speed with lift reverse still so it looks std,

Flywheel and pulley done too,

Box will get a Plate diff as the ATB thing is the worst thing I;ve ever fitted, I gave them the benifit of the doubt until I used one in competition.

ECU should be a Omex 710 as I have a excellent mapper 5 minutes from me.

Might get a manifold custom made but this I would do a before and after as I can moan at my exhaust man if it made things worse

Out of interest, what exactly didn't you like about the diff?? Unsure

Stan.

It doesn't do anything much, still allows 1 wheel to spin and round bends it doesn't turn in like a Plate diff, One of those things try a plate diff and you won't use anything else

+1 for not bieng overly impressed with the results I got from my ATB, it was an improvement don't get me wrong. But it was'nt the quantum leap in traction I was led to expect, and that's why I sold mine after just a few months use. Hoping to be suitably impressed by a plate diff in the future.

Fair enough, I was thinking the same about mine to a degree, although I still like it, but was curious as to whether you had the same gripe about it as me....

I will be getting rid of my ATB for a plate, it drives good on the track i supose, but on the road with the bumps and dips the council never seem to get rid of, its horrid.

My GTi6, well my Dad use's it as a run around more than anything, It's done over that now just I haven't seen it for a while, You'll find some post's about it on here.
Plate diff is just that a diff with plates in, Have a look at Tran X or Gripper's website and that will explain all, Followed by Quaife's site to compare the 2 types
