Now first things first, I'd like to stress that I may not have been scammed, there may well be a perfectly reasonable explanation for whats happened.

But either way, I thought I would ask around on here as someone may be able to help and/or someone might know the seller.

Here is a link to Pistonheads advert:

I inquired about one of the items on the advert (which was removed from the ad not long after I paid), got a quick response, exchanged several emails with the seller and paid via bank transfer on 30th November.

I haven't received the item I paid for and I haven't heard from the seller since 1st December, despite me sending several emails (all polite and non-threatening) and trying the number on the Pistonheads ad.

The seller was incredibly helpful, articulate and knowledgeable and I was happy to pay by bank transfer rather the slightly more secure PayPal.

I don't have an address for the seller, I was going to arrange my own courier and the seller was happy for me to do so and offered me his address but I let him arrange a courier (in hindsight, a mistake).

Due to the nature of the items for sale, Im hoping someone might know the seller or have dealt with him before?
Despite what the Pistonheads ad says, his name is Russ Watkins and I believe he is from the Worcester area.

I would still like to think I haven't been scammed and that there is a reason I haven't received the item or had a response from the seller.

I'd call your bank for a chat tomorrow to see where you stand re getting your money back. They must have some 'tracability' on where it went.

I hope you manage to sort it out mate and at least get your money back.

Looking at the link it's worth quite a lot more than £100, that would have me suspicious to start with.

Simple

Use a alternate email address

Contact him/her

pretend to purchase another item

Tell them you will use your own courior and will need his address

get address

go and see him personally at his home, whilst there you could also loot the other items he has for saleHappy

Just had a look seems he has ripped off a fair few people.

He has also responded and doesn't seem to care much, there are some scum bags around.

Carl.

It was from a while back and quite a few people haven't had any stiff from him from what I can gather, he resurfaced back in may this year but nothing came of it I don't think.

There are details in the 205 thread that may be of use but unlikely given a year ago.

Hmm Hmm as i am from this neck of the woods i may be able to help.
On one of the other posts from this site his name is DimmaTurbo and he lists his location as Bransford.
I know that there is a mechanic from the garage in Bransford and that he has/had a 205 track car and is into french cars, as a chap i know uses this garage for mots.
If you like i can ring him in the morning and find out a bit more.
It may just be a coincidence but its worth a call.

I will see what my options are with both the Police and the bank. Unfortunately I would imagine the boys in blue will say its a civil matter and the bank wont breach confidentiality on my say so.

Astormatt, any help or info you can provide would be much appreciated.

And thanks Mei!

Some more info Here & mobile number shown Here 07972266945

Edit

A bit of digging gives an address and phone number below.

Russell Watkins

Upper Cwm
Craswall
Hereford
Hereford And Worcester
HR2 0PH
01981 510 249

I believe this to be correct as planning applications have been made at this address from 2001-2008 under this name.

It also appears that they breed sheep at this address and that his wife may be a parish council Clerk.
