Done a search but found no definate answer, here's the issue:

Stop light flickering, erratic idle, stalling everytime the car comes to a standstill, fans running even though the engine is coolish and dash lights all dimming in time with the revs.

The searches have pointed towards either dodgy earths and or issues with the bitron unit, the only thing is that the the car was fine Friday, wasn't driven on Saturday due to it being buried under about a foot of snow and started showing the above weird symptoms yesterday?

Could this just be the car not liking the cold or could it be something more serious?

Water messing with the electrics in the engine bay maybe?
Have a check and see if theres any signs of dampness / corrosion etc on the electrics like the fuses or battery terminals or wiring / sensor connections etc. Dimming dash lights sounds like a dodgy alternator maybe? Check the connections and that going in to it Thumbs up

I would guess the body to fans loom connectors on the nearside front inner wing to be the cause....

They get wet and corrode over time causing the above symptoms...Yes

    Stan.
