I recently converted my auto 1.6 ph3 to gti6 manual. I changed the main harness from the AL4 transmission and replaced it with a gti 6 harness. Now the park lights are not coming on and the power locks everything else is working.

I bought an unlocked ecu with passenger protector from a 2000 gti6 model which is completely different to the one from the ph3 AL4 transmission in the original 1.6 pass. prot. had two connectors and the one I received from the gti6 has only one.

What can be causing my parking lights not to work and what can I do to rectify this problem?

cheers Cheers

You have a phase 2 immobiliser there, but if the ECU is unlocked you shouldn't need it.

The phase 2 system has 3 boxes; one for the immobiliser, one for the alarm and one for the locks.

With the phase 3 everything is together in a single security ECU which has the same 2 plugs as your original one.

This is why the locking doesn't work. Try plugging in the smaller connector on the original security ECU.

As for the lights, when you say parking lights do you mean the side lights or do you mean that your 306 has the option to leave one side switched on as a parking light?
