hello all i brought my gti-6 about 3 weeks ago has been great pulls really well and been good to me, damn site faster than the old escort gti lol, but now from cold it will start fine but if you leave it just ticking over it will splutter for a bit and then eventually will cut out will start straight away after, if you drive it straight away has alot of smoke coming out the back and after like 2500-3000 revs it will like cut the throttle out if you let of and put foot on throttle again will let the car drive but really you have to crawl about for like 10 mins and change gear all the time to keep engine going then when the engine gets some sort of decent temp if will run absolutly fine for rest of the day and will not kick out any smoke either, but obv when you go to it again in the morning you have the same joys and its annoying me lol just wodered if any of you guys have had this happen to your cars |

Erratic idle may be stepper or possibly MAP sensor.Sounds like you are talking about hesitancy, this has been covered many times before. On my car I got rid of it by replacing the green coolant temp sensor on the thermostat and the lambda sensor. What colour smoke are we seeing? White smoke, especially in this weather, is probably condensation burning off in the exhaust... |

+1 for condensation, my car never feels quite right in these cold temperatures until its properly warmed up. Replaced all the sensors too. Saying that it might be because i tend not to push it much passed 3k until its warmed.________________________________________ "We never have any near misses, we hit them every time!"clicky code for my benefit [ url= http://www.website.com]My link |

it was a bit warmer today when i went out to it and seemed fine, thinks its just the 306 doing what it does best being french and doing what it pleases. as for jimbamboon i never run mine past like 3000 till oil temp is right up, as i know if these car start to go wrong can be a right pain |

im not sure whether 3000 RPM is a bit excessive or not, but i read it somewhere on here and now its just something i tend to do.________________________________________ "We never have any near misses, we hit them every time!"clicky code for my benefit [ url= http://www.website.com]My link |
