I bled my coolant on my 6 yesterday as per threads on this forum and it worked fine all yesterday, I drove about 10 miles ish temp didn’t go above 80 on the oil gauge.

Then this morning coming into work it was fine until I hit traffic then the temp went right up as I stopped and the red stop light came on, although the water temperature stayed low. I had to keep stopping to let the temp come down, but oddly when I pulled away again it dropped down to about 70-80 until I hit more traffic, is this just a coincidence?

I could try re-bleeding it again. Could it be a problem with something else, thermostat, water pump, air getting into the system?

"Edit: I have just found out the thermostat and water pump have only done 2000 miles so they should be fine."

Just been down on my lunch to have a quick look and I think the coolant is leaking from somewhere the rad is only half full.

Are there any common places this could be? I dont think its the heater matrix that would leak into the car wouldnt it? there is no sign there.

Sorry, are you talking about the oil or the water temperature? Unsure

Try filling the collant up again and seeing if it drops as it may have been an airlock from the start that's just been displace around the system as the pumps been turned on.
