Does anybody know the timing figures for a 306 rallye with:272 inlet and 278 exhaust cams? any help appreciated! |

haven't got a clue who cams are made by, the head gasket has been replaced, only to find non- standard cams and I am having trouble trying to figure out who they are made by!stampings on inlet cam: 272 05H58 0031 exhuast cam: 278 15H47 0925 |

They look like the standard markings. Are they in three rows on the non-driven end of the cam?________________________________________ Rich |

Standard timing then! Just pin them up using 6mm pins into the timing slots in the pulleys and the head.There should be a hub that goes into the key way in the cam and into the pulley to give the correct timing position. Oh, and as it sounds like you haven't timed the engine up before stipping it down check the crank pulley hasn't slipped and allowed the timing hole to move. These pulleys have a habit of doing that. ________________________________________ Rich |
