hey folks ..

just after a bit of advice went out to start my car there ... stuck the key in the ignition 'one' turn to get the power radio comes on etc .. turn again to start the engine and nothing .. car wont even 'turn over' .. any ideas? (the water warning light stayed on so checked the water and theres water in the radator etc)

The car hasnt moved in a couple of days although I did go out and turn it over on monday night started first time.

Theres defo power in the battery lights etc. Just nothing happening when I turn the engine.

Any help or advice is greatly welcomed.

Thanks Martin

battery cant cope with the cold weather mines having this problem wait for it to warm up and should start. this happens to mine at the moment.

The battery is far too small so going to get a bigger better one to replace it

Run a volt meter across the battery. If its dropped to around 10volts it won't start but lights will still work. Happened on mine last week. A new bosh 530a battery and its good as gold.Smile

Does your clock and odometer light up? Or remain unlit or off?

try jump starting it from another car, or take the battery off and charge it over night if you have a battery charger.

Do you hear a loud "click" when you try and start it? Could well be that the starter motor's packed in if that's the case Yes

Turn the key with the lights on and see if they go dim or not, if they stay bright it shouldnt be the battery.

Also watch for rev counter or other dials flickering when you try to start it, thats another good sign it is flat.
