was told by some friends,to fit a diesel battery to my gti6 as these have more kick in them to turn over my 6 is this true as mine is a bit slow to turn over,and sorry if you have heard this before....cheers deanoWink

as it happens, the gti6 is specified with the same battery as the diesel models anyway, and you wont fit anything bigger in that battery box.

cheers buddy,needs replacing as its doing the dash wobblys,when the dials spin round and back to the bottom when i start her sometimes....cheers anywayWink

as above i think both came with 480 batteries.

I upgraded my hdi to a 680 cause i got it free and it starts like someone has a whizzy gun on the crank Laugh i don't have the battery box though as it's a derv

I used to run my old Dturbo with a AC delco artic refrigeration unit battery, lol...Sub zero temps,fired up straight away Razz

Late hdis came with 680. Ive had one for 7years and only this cold has done it..

I would still say that was retrofitted tbh, as it's far overspecced for the car.

IIRC they are known for having lazy starter motors, mine is the same and ive just bought a bigger 065 unit last week Dunno

High compression does'nt help much either. Fit the best battery you can afford and avoid cheap unbranded types FTW.
