Ok, I have a rallye shell, but only a gti6 engine, gti6 rad and gti6 twin fans. The rallye obv has no 'Bitron' unit.

How do I get the fans to work? Do I need the rallye rad sensor? or can I make it work with twin fans?

Worst case, i'll put them on a switch, but always frowned on cars with this 'bodge', even if it is destined for the track.

Cheers.

Is the plug there for the Bitron unit?

easiest option is to get the fan assembly from a non a/c TD model, and a fan switch (or a rallye unit of course)

I guess its for S616 KDF? did the fans go with the engine?

When i fitted the gti6 eng/box etc to my non aircon xsi i couldnt get the fans to work the loom from the back off the dash plug down to the pass inner wing was wired totally different so i fitted a bulb sensor in the top hose and that triggers the fans to come in

Thread revival but have a phase 1 with non AC single fan with a big resistor where the second fan should be. Am about to wire in two slimline fans to it but it's a bit of an odd setup.... Has the fans with in the top of the radiator same as a rallye but has a bitron unit wired in the nearside wheel arch as well? Thought only AC models use the bitron unit or as a phase one am exception?

I would just remove the resistor and wire in the second fan to that feed as usually they just turn the fans on in series for low speed and parallel for high speed but there are 3 wires to the resistor not 2 as I would have expected....

Also will be wiring in an override switch for the dash so they can be cut in manually earlier. If it comes to it could always use the existing fan wiring and switch to power one fan and wire the second one seperately with a relay to a swith on the dash.

Going to strip the fan / resistor loom apart at lunch might all make sense then anyway Wink
