I dont think I would buy it for that money, I have a Sony that does exactly the same thing but was £100 less!

I've not used it but is similar to my older model alpine.

plus points of the model you are looking at are:

50w per channel
Time correction
High pass filter
4volt pre outs
Adjustable subwoofer level.

A very competent head unit that will enable you to fine tune your system. Worth the money in my opinion.

Got to remember the wattage game with even some of the most expensive brands are a gimmick though.

its all about the RMS it the end of the day and manufactures rarly specify that on headunits..

i've got one. had it to replace my old top of the range cda 9887r. for features, the 9887 beat it as it had the processor already built in, but once i got used to how to set up the 117, and considering i mainly use it as an ipod head unit, it kicks the shit out of the old model. it takes the files from the ipod and uses it's own high quality DAC to get awesome sound from the ipod, on the old unit it sounded a bit muddy.

i'd defo recommend it. saying that tho i don't know how it would sound without subs/amps speakers etc with it.
