Hi,
in traffic the other day i noticed my engine temp get mighty high,

on the free and open road, things are fine Smile

i first of all pulled the brown plug on the thermostat and nothing

so i investigated the relays,
this is what i found
have a peek

i stripped that damaged wire back and connected up a known good relay (the electric window one lmao)

however still no fans

i have checked fuse 2,3 & 7 (i know my cig lighter fuse just blows with a massive blue spark as soon as you try and connect a fuse, but i dont think thats linked)

whats my best plan of attack, i cant get the circular plug on the bottom right (as you look at it) off the unit its too tight,

am i going to be stripping my front end down to solve this?

Common fault. Cut off the plug and get another 30 amp relay from any car factors, then rewire thru a seperate switch on the dash. Bear in mind it will burn out again so don't bother trying to do a pucker job. Done mine twice so far. Cheers.

Its a shit system and never works on most 6's. A way round it is to wire in a 205 system, you can then get different thermostat switches that activate and different temps Wink

I ditched the old system on my old 6 and it worked fine had no troubles Wink

one hundred and ten billion percent... if i had the time id have stripped the existing loom etc away and done it better.. but i simply cut that fuse box at the battery on the zx and wired it straight back to the battery on the 306 Smile

only thing id have liked to have done tidier is earth it to the body.. but seeing as it was right next to the battery anyway i just put it there
