bit of a funny one i think

i thought after 4months of owning the car (was doing this when i bought it) id have figure out some sort of pattern to it and a 'knack' to start her first go.... but i havnt!

heres the problem, i hop in, put the key in and turn, the engine turns over but wont fire into live.

i turn the ignition off and try again and it will start...

sometimes it starts first go

sometimes it takes a few goes

sometimes it starts fine when its cold, others it wont

starts fine when its warm, other times i wont

sometimes it needs locking up and unlocking and possibly a few more goes

i really dont get it at all, there seems to be no common thing thats causing it

so has anyone else had this problem? or have any idea what it may be?

Tbh mine does a weird thing now and again that when i turn the key nothing happens at all, no clicks no starter motor movement, try again and then fires up, i think its just because it french Nd likes to do our nut in on a daily basis

sounds like an immobiliser issue... most likely a dodgy earth in drivers footwell or n/s front wing!
