I have TSW Blade 15x7 ET 35 Alloy Wheels which have a centre plate, held in position by a 75mm hex nut. Unfortunately my rear wheels cannot be removed as each 75mm nut has seized on tightly; I do have a special TSW hand spanner, but that is too flimsy and short to get any leverage etc. I have looked online at getting a 75mm socket and a long bar but they all use 1" drivers and the prices made my eyes water! £60 for the socket minimum and £500 for the long bar! Shock

So the question is, can anyone suggest what sort of places I can go to get the nuts loose, so I can grease them to prevent it happening again? I went to a local truck and lorry service & mot place the other day, but the largest socket they had was about 65mm. I think they even had a double decker bus and the centre nuts were smaller than mine too. Surely there must be places with air tools and a range of sockets? Perhaps a TSW specialist place?

I've had brake disc and pad problems recently too, and I could only reach through the alloy spokes with wet and dry paper, to scrub my discs but to do it properly I need the wheels off. The pads are rubbing against the discs while driving, so the pad material is all over the disc surface and grooves and dimples.

If anyone can help with suggestions or even offer to use their own socket and bar, I would be very grateful!

Is that not a plastic nut? Nobody in their right mind would fit a 75mm nut surely. Shock

Angle grinder ftw!

Could you get a g-clamp on it? That's what I'd be trying.

Ahh right I will persist with a lot more WD40 then, but I guess not too much as most will just run down away from the nut otherwise.

Actually my fishman suggested a trip to the local scrapyards as they have to deal with whatever stuff comes in.

Yeah Avus R and Blade tend to come up in Google image results. I've seen people selling them and calling them Blades too. They were on the car when I bought it back in 2005.

Oh right, thanks for the info on the Blades; so I definately have Avus R then.

Here is the 75mm nut which seems to be metal judging by the weight and feel. It screws on clockwise and the litte white arrow on the back of the nut shows this. I took this from one of the front wheels as they are still ok, plus I sprayed on some White Lithium Grease to both wheels a few minutes ago; bloody cold outside though, especially with the wind!

UPDATE: The nuts are off! After the first garage's feeble attempts with a crappy tool, this evening I went to my local tiny scrapyard and although they did not have a suitable socket, they had a much sturdier adjustable wrench with long, straight, narrow width jaws and a wide capacity of course. I forgot to ask him where he got them from as I was so pleased and relieved to get those nuts off (made me really depressed and down and worried). Anyway I will bob back and ask him when I get chance.

I've since sprayed on loads of Copper Grease on both the alloy hub threads and the 75mm centre nut threads. Out of the four nuts, there is one that does not smoothly screw fully on, so if I leave it slightly loose the wheel nut cover rattles, although I do not know what this will be like until I drive the car.

Thanks for all the help and suggestions, I very much appreciate it and especially as I am a new member here and not really contributed much.

Thank you all. Thumbs up
