I dont really know alot about cars yet, but gotta start somewhere! Anyway I want to make some room for an air filter up top and was just wondering what the deal is with the duct which appears to feed the battery housing, would anyone suggest I remove this and re locate the battery into the back of the car? I just dont like the thought of sucking up water by having a cone filter too low!

the feed clears gasses from battery tray Yes

if you put battery in boot then you dont need this feed.

id be tempted to stick to the standard intake tho, if you put filter where battery is you will get nothing but hot air sucked in Yes

Fair enough, I was thinking about removing the main beam headlight from the quads so the filter would have direct cold air and sticking a bit of ally plate next to it to prevent hot air off the rad?

if you put the battery anywhere, you need to vent it somehow

if you move the battery inside the car, you need to put a vent from the outlet on the battery to the outside or you are inhaling charge gasses

Can you recommend one that will work for a car with occasional use, that won't cost me the earth?

Most car batteries are sealed these days anyway so the issue of ventilation is largely irrelevant now.

they still have vent feeds on them and should mostly already be in a case so are venting already, thus not a worry really. it was more a case of those who smack the battery in the boot without thinking about it [i did it first time round!]
