Hi,

I don't have a GTI6 but I thought this would be the best place to ask the question though,

I want to put a 6 speed box onto my XUD and the GIT6 box I know fits but the final drive is way too short to be practical for road use,

is there a longer final drive available? or does any one know where I can get one or get one made?

Cheers in advance

I doubt anyone would supply anything lower than the std ratio, only higher for motorsport applications, Getting one made is easy but expect a huge price tag.

plenty on the DW10's, but I'm not sure what angle they sit in those cars that have these boxes.
I do know that the EW in the same shells sit at 15 degrees not the 30 degrees the XU/XUD typically sits at.

Personally, I would go for an HDI box from the dt; even if you put a longer final drive on the '6 box, you're still looking at way too many ratios. You need all the gears to be longer, not shorter, so you can stay in the torque band. You'll literally be changing gears all the time! :S
