Have recived my newengine and gearbox for my 6. Am going to be fitting it over the weekend. couple of quick questions as i have not done this before. Can i fit it as a whole unit with exhaust manifold, and all aux components still attached, or will the exhaust mani have to be taken off put in position and reattached once the rest of the engine is in posisiton. any fitting advise welcome thank you.________________________________________ Wanted list.Coilovers Cams (not too lairy) Strut Brace PM if you have any of these Cheers |

Ive not done it either, but you will want to keep the exhaust manifold attached as its a c*nt to get to once the engine is in. As far as i know it will go in in one go.________________________________________ Cherry Red 306 HDIChampionship White Integra DC5 Type R |

Maybe ask Eddy (see his project thread entitled SH*T ENGINES) as i think hes had his fair share of engines in and out ________________________________________ Ex-Black 6 - Speed has never killed anyone, suddenly becoming stationary... That's what gets you. |

you can get it out without removing anything if you are careful enough. i have had mine in and out about 10 times in the past year. just take your time, remove everything connected to it which joins the engine to the car/body- driveshafts out, fuel pipework, gear linkages, coolant pipe from radiator etc, and once the mounts are loosened off support it with the crane and start to get the crane to take the weight. it will take you a few hours first time round that's for sure but you will get there________________________________________ 306 rallye reproduction decals (full sets/individual decals) | 306 b-pillar textured vinyl weatherstrips306 slam panel esso stickers | 306 yellow / orange / pension fund red side door badges gti6 inlet manifold badges | 306 rear boot badges (p2/p3) winner of Extraction of toys from prams with outstanding vigour award 2009 [source: gti6 owners club] |

When i fit them i fit them complete, lift the crane high and with an adjuster on the chains) i adjust the angle of engine/box so that its almost vertical with the gear box pointing to the floor then lower the crane bit by bit whilst adjusting the angle to a level point that the mounts all line upEDIT Clicky that is teh type of adjuster i use ________________________________________ All South Wales Members Click HereTeam Supercharged Black RALLYE ™ (Click Here for Build Project) MY EBAY ITEMS 07943066306 |

Fitted mine with everything attached, gearbox, manifolds, wiring loom etc, only thing I would leave off is the upper engine mount arm as I found it a lot easier to slide over the mount and bolt it up later, also it is easier (but not essential) if you take the complete front end off, bumper, headlights, radiator and slam panel,I used an electric winch to get mine in and out, simply took the weight of the engine and box with the winch, then undone the mounts, then I turned the engine and box through 90 degrees while pushing the car back out of the way easy peasy ________________________________________ Team Supercharged Gti-6™ |

given how easy it is to strip the front panel off I do that every time now makes it a lot easier as I haven't a load leveller so the engine + box always go in flat, bolt on the gearbox mounting bracket, raise the engine and fit the bush. then push the engine back and fit the top arm and lower the engine back down, fit bolt through bottom mount. ________________________________________ need a part number? get on here - http://public.servicebox.peugeot.comBring on the Trumpets. |
