Yours is a phase 2 yeah? The IR fobs are just crap tbh, my xsi had reasonable range with a new battery but it diminished very quickly. ________________________________________ You feed beefburgers to swans. Does it stop working completely or just end up with a very short range?________________________________________ You feed beefburgers to swans. I may have been speeding Mr Policeman but [a] I live for the 306 and [b] did you see that dog? omfg |

Stops working completely... It just dies. No more red light on the fob. But then when I replace the batteries it's fine again (for a month or two ) ...it's like it just eats batteries |

the phase 2 key fobs can be dodgy. Just get a replacement off ebay, and swap the code chips around and you should be fine________________________________________ 1992 Onyx Black 205 GTI-62005 Honda S2000 (Sold) 2002 Audi S3 (Sold) 2005 Clio 182 Trophy (sold) |

As gman says, those IR fobs are a bit shit. Buy a second hand one, programme it to your car (I have instructions for this somewhere) and put your transponder chip in the new key and away you go. ________________________________________ You feed beefburgers to swans. The IR ones (at least the single button version) take two batteries; Just replaced them both for the first time. Car is almost 14 years old, owned by me for the last 7. So, the batteries seem to last well! Sam ________________________________________ I drive a Peugeot, yet i always recommend a Honda? |
