i have my air filter in the normal place at the bottom of bumper. With winter kicking in i dont want to flood it and iv seen them mounted on the throttle bodie with a extra flter for the idel control. Is there any performace gains or losses by doing it this way, any other ideas would be welcome |

It will more than likely suffer from heatsoak, the better thing to do would be to fit a standard airbox for over the wintertime (which is what i do).No worrys of dreaded hydrolock then ________________________________________ Audi S3 Black Edition |

last year me and a mate rebuild his 6 engine because of the filter was down by the bumper, resulting in 4 S shaped conrods and a damaged crank! after seeing that id never mount one there.. we mounted his on the end of the tb with a short pipe, hasnt been a problem and been like that for 12k or so now________________________________________ 230 hp 2.1 16v XU 205 rallye on jenveys Project thread here309 3dr K20 Type R |
