hey fellas, considering i'm looking at itb's and cams I figured it can't hurt to keep an eye on oil temperature, the phase 1 as you all know only has an oil pressure gauge.

Can anyone suggest one? Probably best with an electronic gauge as i don't want to be running oil lines around the car, planning on fitting it to the top vents in the dash so is 52mm about right?

Also thinking about AFR too, any suggestions for them?

Oh and ideally they'll be white faced with blue illumination because i'm a ghey and they have to coordinate LOL

Sender for the oil temp is located on the front of the sump, the sender is possibly there already just not wired up.

Stack stepper motor gauges are worth a look but they ain't cheap.

Sender won't be there already, it will be another sump plug in the front of the sump.

Deffo go electronic, not even sure if there is another type of oil temp gauge as the oil would never heat up all the way through the capillary to the same temp as the sump.

Racetech gauges are ok and not too expensive but that would be white and black. Dunno where you will get blue illumination, but you can try.

Most of the gauges should come with the sender, but if not Tweeks do an M10 sender and then the M14x1.25 adaptor you need (normal M14 thread is 1.5 hence the gay adaptor needed as its a finer thread corseness on the sump plug)

Revotec do a white / blue gauge, but you have to buy the sender separatly.

Oi Chris(1), did you ever do this? I currently have a sender that sits in the main sump plug, and it's crap.

Chris(2) M14x1.25 you say? Positive before I order one up?

Yeah, definitely M14x1.25 for the temperature sender in the sump.

Cheers Rich, and on a P1 it's just a second sump plug in the front of the engine somewhere? Can't say I've ever noticed it tbh.

Does it stick into one of the oilways then so it'll get a proper reading?

ive just started a similar thread, except im wondering if i can wire the (unused) oil sensor into my clock dial and use that instead of a new dial. i know its a bit of a longshot but if posible quite a cheeky mod.

i have the oil temp sensor in my new 2000 engine but as its a phase one wiring loom theres no plug for it (or dial to send the signal to). can i still use this sensor with other guages or will i need to replace it?

any info will be appreciated
