Sounds like the clutch release bearing rather than the box itself |

if the noise is present when clutch is out then surely the release bearing won't be the problem, as a worn release bearing would be noisy when clutch is pushed in |

normally if the noise goes away when clutch is pressed, it's the gearbox as the drive is taken away from it. If the noise gets worse when clutch is pressed then it's the clutch release bearing ________________________________________ 306 rallye, Richard Longman enginerc10gt |

Replace trustwashers dosen't help, the noise still there, crog, crog during idle. Removed the transmission inspect the clutch bearing and main shaft bearing no sign of worn out. I just replace the gear oil, using elf GL4.please help?________________________________________ wg |

i'd say it was your gearbox input shaft bearings then, not expensive to buy but gearbox needs to be stripped ________________________________________ 306 rallye, Richard Longman enginerc10gt |
