Hi, i am about to swap my gti 6 engine as it has blown a rod, Whats the best way to take the engine out? ie up through the top or to drop the sub frame and out the bottom? oh yes and i will be working outside on the floor________________________________________ harle |

Took mine out the top with very little fuss. Removed the slam panel rad and bumper and lowered the gearbox down, then rotated the whole lot anti clockwise and raised it just enough that it all cleared the cross member. Finally pull out forward. |

I brought my flywheel already lightened off Rich-W on here. Only thing was I fitted it at the same time as my supercharger so I don't know how much difference it actually made on it's own. What I can tell you is one of them definitely made it faster.... |
