I know this has been covered a lot because ive trawled through all the searches for info but can't quite decide what the best course of action is.

Low speed fan wont work at all not even with A/C switched on.

*removed brown plug and only drive side spins up. In traffic car gets up to almost the red and then im guessing its the driver fan that brings it back down.

*Switched the relays and still only driver side spins.

*Tried encouraging the low speed, but nothing

Does this basically mean that my low speed fan is dead? How much is a new one and how easy are they to fit?

It might be worth mentioning that i also have a hesitant startup which seems to get better if i run a jump lead from the battery negative to the lifting hook, could it be earth related, fan or other?

Thanks guys

You either have a dead fan, Bitron unit, or fan relay.

update on this one, went to carls and he sorted the fan out, so now, pull the brown sensor off and both fans go slow then fast. Seems ok right, well no, because:

fans dont kick in at 97*c and
if i press the A/C button neither fan spins up.

Am i looking at a knackered or dirty bitron or browntemp sensor? never knew cooling fans could be such a nightmare!

Thanks

I would say it's the brown sensor as the operation of the fans is correct.

Does your A/C work? It will only bring the fans on in there is gas in the system.

ah right this is useful info, i didn't realise the system had to be pressurised for the A/C button to turn the fans on (learn something new everyday) Will switch the brown sensor over and hope that solves it, Cheers Rich.

Your fans work perfectly mate, i had the car running up and they come in as they should, the brown switch is fine.

As above though, if the aircon has no gas in it the pressure switch restricts the operation as it could effictively damaged componants if it were to work.

thing is i was stuck in traffic and they wouldnt come on till well above 97, got home and tested again and still nothing till around 107, do you think there might be another dodgy connection somewhere?

The thing is the dash temp gauge is not 100% accurate, i had the computer on it and they worked more of less when they should, you can replace the brown sensor if you want piece of mind but it seemed to work fine.

i'll have another look this weekend, could well be the gauge being inaccurate. Thanks
