This morning i started the xsi up and from cold there was a slight rumble a bit like pinking and as the fuel is 5years old i just put it down to that, let it warm up on the drive and took it down the garage to waxoil the under side, on the way there the rumble turned in to a knock Sad to me it sounds like a big end on further inspection i can see that the sump has been off and had silly gasket put on it, so im now thinking that was the reason behind the car being parked up

Anyway if the crank is fooked is there any other crank i can drop in it I.E d-turbo 16v xsi etc etc as there seems to be a shortage locally of the 2.0 8v RFX unit that i have alternatively anyone want a good condition phase1 xsi 11 months MOT needing crank work?

all the 2.0 XU engines bar the T16 used the same crank.

steelsump = gasket with XU's.
