I have a annoying squeek from the front right wheel area.

Its a rotational sqeek its there when the engine is off and the car is coasting.

Its only there when going in a straight line if you turn the wheels it gets less or goes away.
There is no bearing rumble from the wheel bearings.
Also the drive shaft in that side was changed as the intermediate bearing had gone so I replaced the whole thing.

The front brakes have been stripped and rebuild and lots of copper slip an them.

So I am slowly runnig out of ideas as to what it could be???? My only option is to strip that side down and see if i spot anything. Sad

Anyone had something simular??

I fixed it in the end with some spray grease and i think the bearing was ever so slightly loose. So I tightened it a bit. No Squeeking any more. Smile

tightened it? if its a wheel bearing you cant tighten it, its a sealed bearing unit Yes

all you have done is put more pressure on bearings , it will wear and develop more play soon enough Yes
id get a new bearing pressed in .

The thing is I did have the bearing loosened off for the driveshaft to be replaced. There was no play before this. So I may not have tightened it enough. The only time it made a noise was on strights and none on cornering. The noise was the brakes rubbing. Its been OK now for 2 months. I have the new bearing if it goes wrong so I just play the waiting game. All of the wheel bearings have done 116000 Miles now. Smile
