<rant> After replacing the bottom end, cleaning the hydraulic tappets and running engine flush thru it to try and remove the awful knock, I strip the head down tonight to find a stone got sucked into two cylinders and has mashed up the head and piston.

Thank goodness I've got a spare head to get skimmed and pressure tested tomorrow.

Still got a hole in the piston to sort out though...

One day, maybe one day, I'll get to drive it! </rant>

Yep without an air filter. Would post pictures but on an iPhone sorry Sad

Came to it this morning, piston's cracked in two. Have spent all afternoon getting the engine out, just started to strip it down.

Thanks rich_w for the pistons, glad I didn't sell it on now!

Oh, and I was very lucky with the barrels, only very light scoring that I can hone down to remove.

Learnt my lesson now fella.

It runs sweet now. Gotta wait until November til I can insure it - gunna be over £1900! Cant wait to finally drive the thing on the public road instead of a private track.

Do you reckon it will be ok to take it for test without running it in for many miles?
