hi guys, i have just joined your forum, as i have just bought a gti6. its had a front end bump, and its gearbox is toast. i am going to use it mainly for a track car, and have been told that the 5 speed 1.9 gti box fits straight on, i am just after a confirmation of this first . once this is sorted i have loads more questions for you. cheers in advance for any help.scott.

i was speaking to a lad who rallies a 306 gti, and he was telling me he builds his own gearboxes. he puts the first 5 geaqrs from a be3/6 gti 6 box into a be3 5 speed casing, and he uses the crown wheel and pinion from a citreon van,as its a 4/9 ratio to give him a realy close ratio box. has anyone else heard of this being done.
