Generally very easy to fit just to see what is happening, bit harder if you want it lit up at night. I bought an old TIM one off the bay for a fiver.

My oil guage is a Revotec one from Demon Tweeks, and they do indeed sell a boost guage. Very good quality, fits the standard 52mm hole and has a bulb in the back that just connects to any old 12v supply.

From what it says it comes with 2m of hose and a t-piece, which must connect to the air inlet somewhere.

I am very happy with mine - it's an SPA Design one and it's a programmable stepper motor job (so you get things like peak hold, programmable warning light for certain boost levels, adjustable sensitivity etc.)

And yeah I looked for ages to find one that wasn't too "JDM yo!" this one looks suitably OEM and has red backlighting at night.

if your after a cheap one, ebay and look for the auto gauge ones. They do the job and look nice. Ive gone for the smoked glass ones so you cant see anything till the ignitions on then they light up (Y)

the quality of boost gauges are ones that dont drip due to age... on a SC car it isnt really a big purchase as boost is set per rpm..

True it's not essential, although mine has already come in handy when diagnosing belt slip - and I like to use the peak/tell-tale from time to time (to check for any boost leak)
