the process i would go through in a full 3day detail

interior first:

First of all i will remove all the seats, boot carpet, underlay, spare wheel.I will then give the car a good hoover out to remove most of the dirt.

I then move on to the shampoo stage starting with the headlining and work you way down the pillar trims to the dash. The dash will then be fully shampooed (NOT SOAKED) to clean off the grime then using the detailing brushes clean all the vents switches and hard places to get.

After all the dash is done and micro fibred dry the carpet can then be done same process again using shampoo which not only enhances the colour but de odours the car. Then i will clean under the rear seat and boot floor fully shampooing it and micro fiber it dry.

All door cards will also be shampooed and dried. After that i will move onto the boot area cleaning the carpet/parcel shelf both front and rear. The spare wheel will also be cleaned and dressed. After that the seats can then be fully shampooed inc all runners then dried and refitted.

Then the windows can be polished i will then go over everything with a microfiber to ensure all dust is gone and no water marks are left. I can then start to dress and treat the interior. Then the final stage is a spray protector that protects all carpets and seats from future spills/dirt build up will last for years to come.

exterior:
First stage is to steam clean all the grime off the car then using a NON ACID based wheel cleaner to clean off all brake dust and using a detail brush to get into the wheel inserts then rinse off.

I will then wash the car by hand with meguiars gold class using the 2 bucket method and grit buckets to ensure no grit is picked up that will scratch the paint i also use a lambs wool glove to prevent scratches.

The next stage is to towel dry the car to also prevent scratches/drag that the normal chamois gives. I will then ensure that the car is dry before masking up ready to be machine polished.

After masking up (using a low adhesive 3m tape) all the trim to prevent polish going on them i will then go over the car with a very bright led light to find all the swirls/paint defects. Then i can start the 3 stage machine polish panel by panel.

1st stage: is to go over it with cutting compound and a cutting pad (cut depends on paintwork) to remove all paint defects. 2nd stage: a lighter cut polish with a polishing pad to remove scratches and get a deep shine to the paint work. 3rd stage: a really light grade of finishing compound with a finishing pad to remove those little scratches and bring the paintwork up to its best.

I will do this on every panel on the car inc bumpers. After the whole car is completed i will then wax the car using a very pure no1 yellow carnauba wax then i will use a sealer to protect the cars paint work for uav,uvb light and general day to day grime this will act as a glass shield on the car.

The next stage will be to polish the windows then after that is done i can start to dress all the trim, tyres, grill, arch liners etc etc also all chrome/metal trim will be polished and treated. I will go over the car viewing very close to find any missed spots of dirt.

The final stage would be to buff off using a micro fibre cloth to ensure that mirror finish.

This whole process takes about 2-3 days.

(this is just a basic description of what i will do)

please pm me if anyone has any questions.

thanks,richard.

Out of interest do you cover the engine bay too or is that a little risky?

yes i do do the engine bays but it all depends on what car it is to how far i go with it.

ie. ive steam cleaned alot of gti-6 engine bays and there always fine.

but on a newer car or something really expensive ill just steam around the edge of the wings and slam panel then do the rest but hand.

thanks again, richard.
